Legendary Numark DJ performance meets USB digital-audio convenience and iPod portability in the TTi. This pitch-adjustable, professional turntable not only enables DJs and music enthusiasts to play vinyl the old school, needle-on-wax way; it makes converting music to flexible digital formats a snap. The Universal Dock for iPod directly connects iPod and TTi, and a USB jack blasts digital audio straight into your Mac or PC’s iTunes music library.
TTi's integrated line-level output allows quick, easy connection to any mixer for instant playback from your iPod or vinyl. Pitch control is included to enable adjustment of playback speed.
Included EZ Vinyl/Tape Converter software (PC) converts your records quickly and easily, with automatic track separation. EZ Audio Converter (Mac) lets you easily enter track information manually.
Spin your favorite tracks on your iPod at the gym, jam out to a mix CD in your car, and then drop the needle on some classic analog at the club – all with TTi.

The instructions and E-Z audio software are so-so, but it works perfectly with the free downloaded Audacity.

There are lots of positives to the Numark TTI phonograph turntable:
The TTI has a USB output for direct-to-computer conversion of your vinyl. Most turntables do not have this, of course. And the TTI even has a built-in iPod dock!
The TTI has an aluminum platter. Most turntables have plastic ones which can warp over time.
The TTI has a built-in phono pre-amp which can be turned off as well. Most turntables do not have a built in phono preamp so you need to buy one separately unless you have one of the now rare receivers that has one built-in.
The TTI comes with a very common decent stylus (aka needle), and they sell replacements really cheap. You can easily find the replacements selling for under $30 for TWO replacement styli (yep, styli is the plural for stylus).
The TTI has an S-shaped tone arm. Just trust me on this one, they track better than the straight tone arms.
Want a better stylus? The TTI can accept any standard headshell/cartridge, Pro-Mount cartridge or P-Mount cartridge (requires a Pro-Mount to P-Mount adapter of course), which means that just about any replacement cartridge made in the past 30 years can be put onto the TTI. Many competitor's turntables require that you use their proprietary stylus for their proprietary built-in cartridge. The replacement styli are usually way overpriced and exceptionally cheap-sounding. Common examples: Most Sony turntables and Numark's own PT01-USB portable turntable.
Why is it important to be able to put on a different cartridge? Well for one thing all products get discontinued eventually, and the parts and accessories often get discontinued not long afterwards! With the TTI you have a universal fit for all of three of the current standard replacement cartridge types. Secondly, the quality of sound you get out of a turntable is well over 95% dependent upon the quality of the cartridge and stylus (disregarding the possibility of using the phono pre-amp here, of course). Most people don't realize that in a phonograph turntable there is basically nothing but wire between the cartridge and the input on your stereo receiver! There is nothing inside the turntable to clean up the sound or make it sound better or whatever. The turntable's sound quality is almost completely dependent upon the cartridge and stylus. So get a turntable like the Numark TTI where you can upgrade the cartridge and stylus whenever you feel the need for better sound!
The negatives of the TTI? A more expensive turntable would be heavier and have a heavier platter, include the dust cover (for the TTI the DC01 dustcover is sold separately) and, of course, you could spend thousands on a cartridge and stylus so that could ALWAYS be better. But given the price point, the Numark TTI is by far the best deal for the money!
