The R.Empire fretless Ukulele Bass, like all bass ukuleles, is a baritone-sized ukulele.

This ukulele is outfitted with a new kind of bass strings from Aquila called Thundergut strings. They look and feel rubbery but sound surprisingly good.

These ukuleles are typically tuned the same way that a bass guitar is tuned.

They are amazing for learning how to play because the hand stretches are not as far, the strings are easier on uncalloused fingers, and the lack of frets is also easier on the fingers.

That said, we sell most of these to accomplished bass players. Not only do they make a great travel instrument, they are relaxing to play and actually sound decent amplified! (The owner of Audio-Depot has even played one of these on stage at an outdoor festival)
